Twitch Fright Fest is coming!

The season of fear is near! From October 24-31, we’re celebrating Twitch Fright Fest by showcasing horror content all week long. Fearsome art, creepy games, and haunting costumes, it’s all on the Fright Fest front page shelf collection and we want YOU to be a part of it!

To get involved, be sure to tag your stream with “TwitchFrightFest” to join the front page recommendation shelf for the week.

Grab Some Goodies

We’re teaming up with Dead by Daylight to bring you some in-game goodies! Bag yourself some rewards during Twitch Fright Fest from Oct 24, 9am PT through Oct 31, 23:59pm PT:

  • Three exclusive Dead by Daylight in-game badges: Radio Mic, Rose Necklace and Slimy Slush
    • Watch any eligible Dead by Daylight stream (at least one hour per badge; 3 hours total watch time).
  • A limited-time animated Twitch chat emote, DwightDBD
    • Available to all during the celebration week

We also heard that the “Scary” ModMother may make a surprise appearance during the week to sprinkle some goodies upon creators on the Fright Fest shelf… including the iconic Twitch Killer Charm. For a chance to be selected, simply join the Fright Fest shelf and stream Dead by Daylight from October 24-31, and the Scary ModMother may stop by!

Check out the Drops and Rewards page on the listed campaign start dates to learn more.

Trick-or-Treat Challenge

Bring the beloved Halloween tradition of trick-or-treating to life on Twitch by going door-to-door on your fellow streamers’ virtual channels this Halloween. You can use the Knock button to drop in with your community using Shared Chat.

Get inspired by Techniq, AshSaidHi and other Twitch Ambassadors and Unity Guild members as they share the Halloween love by participating in the Trick or Treat Challenge on October 30! Read more about Shared Chat & Drop-Ins to get involved.

Event FAQs

When will I receive my emote?
Emotes will be delivered to streamers who participate in a Shared Chat collaboration for 15+ minutes and viewers who watch / engage in the shared collaboration experience for at least 5 minutes. All emotes will be attributed the following business day after unlocking it. If you encounter issues with receiving your emote, please contact Twitch Support.

When will I receive my Drops?
To be eligible for the Drops, you must watch any eligible Dead by Daylight stream from Oct 24, 9am PT through Oct 31, 23:59pm PT. You must watch at least one hour to gain each badge, a total of 3 hours total watch time. The game developer is responsible for fulfilling the Drop rewards in the game and in some cases, this may take time to process. Please contact Behaviour directly for any questions.

How does the shelf work?
The shelf uses an algorithm that shows viewers what they are most likely to click on based on their previous viewership. These appearances are not scheduled, so your channel may rotate in and out of this section at random any time you are live!

How do I check if I’m featured on the shelf?
You won’t be able to see yourself on the Recommendation Shelf whilst live, however you can check if you have been promoted on the Recommendation Shelf on Creator Dashboard > Analytics > Discovery > Views from Twitch > Homepage Recommendations and check Views + Impressions.

How can I be removed from the shelf?
Simply remove the “TwitchFrightFest” tag from your stream to be removed from the shelf.

Guidelines + Safety

Before you go live, make sure to tag your stream with “TwitchFrightFest” to be included in the recommendation shelf! You can find more information on stream tags here.

Being on the front page shelf might mean you experience more traffic than usual in your streams. To keep yourself and your community safe in the instance of an influx of new viewers, we recommend the following safety settings:

  • AutoMod set to Level 2
  • Email and phone chat verification turned on
  • Followers only mode for at least 10 minutes
  • Shield Mode setup (activate only when needed)

Please review your Content Classification Labels to disclose the content you’re streaming. You can find this setting in your “Edit Stream Info” page. You will still appear on the Recommendation Shelf - however remember, there are some categories and content we do not show on the Recommendation Shelf such as Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches & Gambling.

Check out the Twitch Safety Center to learn more about how to keep your stream safe through community guidelines, reporting, moderation, and other information you may be interested in.
